WASPS Working Space Available

April-July 2009

We have secured a studio space for writers at WASPS studios on Hanson Street for a trial from April to July this year.

We are offering it to writers to book for one month blocks. There is 24hr access to the building so we will be letting it to up to three writers at a time, as working hours may not necessarily overlap if someone prefers to work at night.

The cost per month is £130 which will be split between writers using the room. We will do our best to keep the room at capacity but there may be times when the cost fluctuates with the number of people working.

The space is not suitable for workshops, rehearsals or readings; it is situated in a quiet corridor shared with visual artists.

To book your time slots or if you have any questions or would like to discuss any details please do call or email Claire Dow at 0141 332 4403 or claire@playwrightsstudio.co.uk

Selling Your First Script
Euroscript

Date: Saturday 4 April 2009

Most screenwriters fall down not for lack of talent or of trying, but from not knowing how to market their ideas. Often it takes only the smallest shift to turn a script or series proposal from good to compelling, a hair's breadth between a script that sells and one that doesn't.

On this intensive one-day workshop for a small group, writers will be given practical exercises and personal feedback to help you prepare your script for the market, and then make sure you know how to track down the right cinema and TV producers and how to make the best possible deal.

Venue: Room 354, Birkbeck College, Malet Street entrance, London WC1E 7HX
Date: Saturday 4th April 2009
Time: Registration 10.15am, Workshop: 10.30am to 5.30pm
Price: £85 (concessions £75) On this course we are offering the concessionary rate to members of Shooting People, WGGB, WIFTV and WriterNet.)
