Writers' Factory Feature Film Course The course takes place over 22 weeks (plus 2 additional 3-week writing breaks), incorporating a mixture of theory and practice. Students are introduced to recent developments in the craft of feature film screenwriting; will participate in project-based story workshops with course peers; and develop and write a first draft of a low budget feature film. The course is delivered by multi-award winning Edinburgh-based film and television producer, screenwriter and experienced Writers' Factory lecturer, Nigel R. Smith. A Guide to Courses with The Writers' Factory The Writers’ Factory courses have been highly successful in developing screenwriters, many of whom have gone on to produce short film scripts or pursue their interest in writing at Film School. All courses are screen-industry approved and are delivered by experienced screen industry professionals. Funding for Film Festivals Regional Screen Scotland Location: Scotland-wide Dates: 13 January 2012 RSS is accepting applications from organisations planning film festivals, touring programme of films, or similar audience development activities in areas of cinema under-provision in Scotland. The total fund for this scheme during 2011-12 is £60,000 devolved from the Creative Scotland's Access Investment programme. Online Script Development Screen Academy Scotland Location: Online Dates: January 2012 This pioneering screenwriting consultancy service covers the project development of a feature film from initial idea to third draft screenplay. The service consists of extremely practical and extensive online lessons covering the essential areas of craft needed to write a screenplay in any genre.
