Online Script Development Screen Academy Scotland Location: Online Dates: January 2012 This pioneering screenwriting consultancy service covers the project development of a feature film from initial idea to third draft screenplay. The service consists of extremely practical and extensive online lessons covering the essential areas of craft needed to write a screenplay in any genre.
Writers' Factory Feature Film Course Screen Academy Scotland Location: Edinburgh, Scotland Deadline: 20 January 2012 The course takes place over 22 weeks (plus 2 additional 3-week writing breaks), incorporating a mixture of theory and practice. Students are introduced to recent developments in the craft of feature film screenwriting; will participate in project-based story workshops with course peers; and develop and write a first draft of a low budget feature film. Writers with extant screenwriting skills have an opportunity to assimilate contemporary thinking on the craft, and broaden their understanding of current industry requirements. Writers' Factory Intro to Screenwriting - EXPRESS! Screen Academy Scotland Location: Edinburgh Deadline: 16 February 2012 It’s an express version of the Introduction to Screenwriting course and runs over two non-consecutive weekends. Writers Factory tutors devised the course content in response to demand from new writers who have been unable to attend the full version but want a rigorous overview of the craft from industry professionals.
