Script Surgeries at TalkFest in Perth

Writing a play and looking for some advice on how to take it to the next draft? Apply for a fifty-minute, one-to-one session on an extract from your play with award-winning playwright, Annie George.

Annie is an award-winning writer, director, producer, performer and an occasional filmmaker.

She was awarded the Inspiring Scotland Bursary by the Saltire Society and the Scottish Book Trust in 2016.

Recent plays include Home is Not the Place and The Bridge - a Glasgow 2014 commission - which became the first production by a South Asian writer to receive funding for a Scottish tour by national arts agency Creative Scotland.

 

Submissions Process

We use Submittable to help streamline our submissions process. If you are having any problems with the site, please call us on 0141 332 4403 or email info@playwrightsstudio.co.uk and we'll do our best to help you.

How do I apply?

Click on the Submit button below to start your application. Submittable will ask you to create an account (or sign in to your existing account). You will need to fill in your name and email address and choose a password.

Once you've created an account, you will then be asked to fill in your contact details, equalities information and upload your extract.

You will need to provide:

  • The title of your play
  • A synopsis of your play
  • The reason that you'd like to be considered for a script surgery (no more than 100 words)
  • A 10-20 page extract of a stage play in either Word or PDF format

Once you have completed all questions, click the final Submit button. You should then receive an email confirming the submission of your application.

Please note: This is an opportunity for Scotland-based playwrights, however first preference will be given to Perthshire-based writers
