AWAN: Between Fact & Fiction facilitated by Sara Sharaawi

A playwriting workshop facilitated by  Sara Shaarawi.

Rapid Response in Political Drama will look at how rapid response can be a useful exercise in responding to real life political events within drama. The workshop will reference Sara's plays Niqabi Ninja and Bury Me, which began as reactions to political incidents in Egypt.

The workshop will be followed by a rehearsed reading of Niqabi Ninja  with actors Laila Alj  and Lara Sawalha.

What to Expect

The workshop will be part discussion and part writing exercises, as you explore the immediate narratives that emerge from real life events as they unfold.
