Writing for Performance: An Introduction

A workshop with playwright Martin O'Connor 

Part of TalkFest in the Borders.

Join playwright Martin O'Connor (Togail Nàisean/Building a Nation - National Theatre of Scotland, Theology - The Arches) for a practical workshop to give you a taste of writing for performance in a collaborative, safe, supportive and fun environment.

This whistle-stop, nuts and bolts workshop will give you an insight into some of the techniques used by playwrights. The workshop is an opportunity for people who have never considered writing for performance, to immerse themselves in its joys and challenges for the very first time.

Suitable for age 16+ at any skill level and from all writing backgrounds. 

Martin O'Connor is a performer, writer and theatre maker. He creates text based performance, participation projects and spoken word. He has performed and directed his own work and his writing has also taken him to Botswana, India, Canada, Georgia, South Africa and the U.S.
