Plays off the Page reading.

An exciting opportunity to hear some work in progress.

On Saturday 8 September a company of actors and director Ben Twist will work with Ron Ferguson from Orkney on his play 'Ending it All'.
At 7pm this play will then have a script in hand reading to a public audience.

 

Open Floor Discussion
Following the reading there will be an open floor discussion with an introduction from Highland playwright George Gunn where you will get the chance to air your thoughts on life for playwrights in the north of Scotland.

Inspire Workshops

Led by our Associate Playwrights these Free workshops will help you with your playwriting.

11.30am Introductory - guidance for aspiring playwrights and interested members of the public. No experience necessary

3.30pm Further skills - for those with some experience of playwriting, or who have attended an Inspire session in the past.

Places are fee, but limited. To book contact Claire on 0141 332 4403 or e-mail claire@playwrightsstudio.co.uk clearly stating which session you wish to attend.

 
 

Play Sales

From 11.30am our Bookshop is open to visitors at the theatre. On sale at reduced prices will be a wide selection of published plays by Scotland's playwrights. This is your chance to browse our shelves and pick-up copies of plays you have enjoyed or missed out on seeing first time around.

Script Surgeries

This is your chance to discuss your work face-to-face with one of our Associate Playwrights and get professional feedback. Concentrating on one particular script, you will receive advice on how to improve the writing and make that script the best it can be.

Applications for Script Surgeries are now closed.

 

Ben Twist is a freelance theatre director and producer. He was Artistic Director of Contact Theatre, Manchester and Associate Director of the Traverse Theatre in Edinburgh.He has directed over 70 productions in Scotland, England, Europe, Latin and North America and New Zealand. 

Ben is a board director of Prime Productions and Hebrides Ensemble and has recently been asked to join the university committee that oversees the work of the Macrobert Centre in Stirling.  He joined the Capital Committee of the Scottish Arts Council in 1999.  In 2003 he became Chair of the Committee and a Council member.
