Beyond COVID-19: One year on
A Playwrights' Gathering
A year after the first online Playwrights' Gathering was held during the COVID-19 crisis, Playwrights' Studio, Scotland, the Scottish Society of Playwrights, the Writers' Guild of Great Britain and playwright colleagues met to discuss where we are now.
What actions have leading organisations in the sector taken to ensure the voices of playwrights are included in wider conversations? What are their plans going forward?
At this Gathering, we heard:
- Updates from Playwrights' Studio, Scotland, the Scottish Society of Playwrights, the Writers' Guild of Great Britain
- The latest information from Creative Scotland from Vanessa Boyd, Interdisciplinary Performance Officer
- Details of Culture Counts' activities from Andy Robertson, Communications Manager
- A presentation by playwright Peter Arnott
The Gathering was the first opportunity to hear from Louise
Stephens, new Creative Director and Chief Executive of Playwrights'
Studio, Scotland, as she spoke with playwright Lewis
Hetherington about her work up until now, and how she came to
be at Playwrights' Studio.
