Update from Playwrights’ Studio, Scotland on Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Following our statement in August 2021, Playwrights' Studio, Scotland would like to update you on our position in light of the revised Scottish Government strategic framework for tackling COVID-19.

Office reopening

Playwrights' Studio will continue taking a phased approach in our return to in-person activity.

There will now be a member of staff in the office should you need to contact us by telephone.  Our office number is 0141 332 4403 and office hours are 10am - 6pm, Monday - Friday.

Should you wish to visit the office in person, we would ask you to call or email info@playwrightsstudio.co.uk in advance.

We can arrange meetings in person (if appropriate) and we will continue conducting meetings via phone or video call.

The Space and Plays Library

The Space will reopen for bookings on Monday 7 March.  To begin with, this will operate on a reduced capacity of four people at any one time.  Should you wish to make a booking, please email info@playwrightsstudio.co.uk for availability and further information.

The Plays Library will also be accessible from this date.  Again, should you wish to access the library, please call or email info@playwrightsstudio.co.uk in advance to arrange an appointment.

The Tom McGrath Writers' Room

The Tom McGrath Writers' Room has also reopened.  Again, this will be operating on a reduced capacity and there is a booking system in place.  To find out more about the room, please email info@playwrightsstudio.co.uk for further details.

Our activity

We're keen, like the rest of the sector, to be back working in person. We are happy to arrange activity in-person and there is a process in place by which this can requested and discussed with staff.  All of our activity is fully risk assessed and monitored on a regular basis in line with current Scottish Government guidelines.

We remain sensitive to the fact that everyone has varying degrees of comfort, many of us remain vulnerable and that digital platforms can provide a greater degree of accessibility and/or flexibility.  Therefore, we will still continue to offer activity online as well as in-person.

Where to find updates
We will continue to monitor and review the situation and respond as best as we can to official advice from the UK and Scottish Governments as we move through this new phase

.

We will continue to keep you updated via the homepage of our website, through our e-news and on Twitter and Facebook.

We suggest keeping an eye on Creative Scotland and the Federation of Scottish Theatre's digital channels for more general updates for the arts sector.

If you have any specific questions or concerns about our plans, please do not hesitate to contact Emma McKee, General Manager on emma@playwrightsstudio.co.uk to discuss this further.

For general enquiries, please email info@playwrightsstudio.co.uk

We look forward to seeing you soon.
