TalkFest at the Tron was a mini-festival celebrating the work of Scotland's playwrights. Packed with new playwriting - rehearsed readings, discussions, workshops, script surgeries and networking opportunities.

Christine Devaney and Luke Sutherland have been collaborating together over the last 9 years; in this workshop they will focus on sharing aspects of their shared creative practice and processes.  This will give participants  an opportunity to explore collaborative and experimental ways of working on the interplay between text, music and movement and what this may bring to the very first stages of new work.

Stage to Page is a voluntary collective of writers, directors and actors who meet monthly to conduct short public workshops of scenes from brand new plays. This lively exploration of new writing is an opportunity for writers to be actively involved in an exciting, short workshop process, hear their work being read and get feedback from directors, actors and audiences. Find out about submission guidelines. Or come along on the night to join in or just observe the process from page to stage!

Alan Bissett is a playwright, novelist and performer.

Playwrights' Studio provides administrative support for Stage to Page.

A workshop examining where to look and how to search for the notions, images and stories that will help you create your play.  Playwright Lynda Radley (DORM, Futureproof) shares some thoughts and exercises on how to get started and where to find the precious grains of inspiration that can grow into the glowing pearls of plays.

The script surgeries will be 50 minute, one-to-one sessions with professional playwrights Riccardo Galgani, Lesley Hart and JC Marshall. Details about the submissions process and how to apply can be found here.

A writing workshop exploring how to explore and exploit the comedic potential of your characters.  How can we create comedy without the need to dumb down our characters or plot?  Why might we use comedy as a tool to tell our stories from an alternative angle?
