Dramaturgy Now!

Recent developments in dramaturgical practice

Friday 27 May

James Arnott Theatre, Gilmorehill Halls, University of Glasgow

This event looks to survey current trends in the field of dramaturgy with a focus on Scottish-based practitioners. It will explore the idea of an 'expanded' field of dramaturgy that extends beyond a focus on the play text to include interactions with other disciplines such as dance, the visual arts and new media, as well a desire to take account of recent political and social developments.

The keynote speaker will be Synne Behrndt from Stockholm University of the Arts. Synne is co-author (with Cathy Turner) of Dramaturgy and Performance (2016). Other panel speakers will include Louise Stephens from Playwrights' Studio, Scotland, Rosie Kellagher from the National Theatre of Scotland (NTS),  Andy Edwards (playwright and dramaturg) and Graham Eatough from the University of Glasgow.
