The Playwrights' Studio, Scotland bookshop returns to the Traverse this August. A selection of plays from Scotland, leading playwrights and reference books available. Find us at the building entrance opposite the press office.

One-to-one 45-minute sessions with Playwrights' Studio, Scotland Associate Playwright, Stef Smith. These chats will be a chance to talk over a problem and possible paths forward for your play with an experienced writer, giving you the chance to get a different perspective on your work. Apply by 12 noon, Tuesday 9 August.

Join playwrights James Ley (ODE TO JOY (How Gordon got to go to the Nasty Pig Party)) and Uma Nada-Rajah (Exodus) as they talk about taking their Festival plays from concept to production. Learn about everything that's involved in writing a successful play from idea conception and putting pen to paper all the way up to showcasing the work.

The Writer-Composer Relationship
with Isobel McArthur and MJ McCarthy

A panel of writers and composers, including Isobel McArthur (The Grand Opera House Hotel, Pride and Prejudice* (*Sort Of)) and MJ McCarthy, discuss and answer questions about the unique relationship between playwrights and composers.
