Visual Theatre with Ramesh Meyyappan

On this five-day course you will work with theatre creator Ramesh Meyyappan, exploring storytelling through music and movement to develop your visual theatre vocabulary.
The Art of Visual Storytelling provides participants with
an opportunity to explore a range of visual ideas and begin to tell
stories and develop narratives in a unique visual way. A visual
language is a shared language a form of communication that can go
beyond spoken word.
Through the course participants will:
Be encouraged to develop their skills in visual storytelling using movement, mime, *sign mime as well as a range of other physical and visual styles
Develop skills in adapting texts into a visual narrative style
Begin an exploration of finding a visual vocabulary and using this to support the development of a narrative
Respond to a range of stimulus to develop and devise a short theatrical visual narrative
This summer school aims to create an inspiring, challenging and supportive environment for BSL and English speakers to explore, experiment and increase their performance experience.
The course culminates in an informal sharing of the work created during the week for an invited audience.
