Alistair Rutherford lives and works in Edinburgh. He has over 13 years of script writing experience in film, radio, theatre, TV and interactive games. He develops original ideas, adapts existing work and has proven ability across genres, including sci-fi, comedy, thrillers and drama.
One of his plays, An Island Between Heaven and Earth, was invited to be part of the Iona Community's 75th Anniversary Celebrations in 2013 and played on the island of Iona. Other plays include A Most Curious Detour (commissioned by the Stroke Association UK), and The Garden and Passing Through (both for Peapod Productions). His radio plays are An Island Between Heaven and Earth (BBC Radio 4) and Happy New Year (BBC Radio Scotland).
Screenwriting commissions include Vault for Swedish production company Storymix and three produced short films. Alistair is currently adapting the best-selling novel First and Only into a feature screenplay for Magnus Wake of Encaptivate Film, Edinburgh.
He was also part of the writing team for CBBC's Bafta-nominated OOglies animated comedy show, produced by Edinburgh-based Ko Lik Films.
