Chris Deans
Christopher was born in Glasgow in 1967, and has been working as
a playwright since the mid-1990s. He has worked with 7:84; Complete
Productions; Borderline; and his own theatre company, MCT, with
plays such as Free-Fall (shortlisted for Soho Theatre's
Verity Bargate Award 2004), Boiling a Frog (adapted from
the novel by Christopher Brookmyre), It Is Done, Cut
to the Chase, Another Space, Molly's Collar &
Tie and Smells + Bells.
He was Playwriting Fellow at the Traverse Theatre during 2005. He
has also written for radio, television, various pantomimes and
cabaret revues. His work as a dramaturg, teacher and
script/workshop facilitator is extensive, working with the
Citizens' Theatre, National Theatre of Scotland, Glasgay!, The
Traverse's Class Act project, Glasgow University, Coatbridge
College, and many others.
He is a former Chair of the Scottish Society of
Playwrights.
