Isobel McArthur

Isobel McArthur is a Glasgow-based writer, musician and actor. She trained at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and is a founding member of Glasgow ensemble Blood of the Young, who are the current company in residence at the National Theatre of Scotland. 

Isobel's original multi-media solo show How to Sing it had its debut at the On the Verge festival during her training. How to Sing it was subsequently supported by the National Theatre of Scotland and co-produced by the Tron Theatre in 2016, where Isobel became Artist in Preview. Other work as a writer-performer includes Blood of the Young's debut piece GOLDEN ARM THEATRE PROJECT to which Isobel contributed a number of short plays and Daphne Oram's Wonderful World of Sound, a mainstage production which enjoyed an extensive Scottish tour in 2017.

Isobel's adaptation of the Jane Austen classic Pride & Prejudice* (*Sort of) is being programmed as part of Tron Theatre's Spring/Summer season in 2018.
