Janine McEwan

All I've ever wanted to be was a writer. As far as I can remember I've been working on a one project or another, be it a book,a play, a poem. I was born in Glasgow's Rottenrow with Cerebral Palsy. I can't walk or speak and I believe this has fueled a love of language.

I came to the attention of The National Theatre of Scotland with my play Daddy Bang Bang. Unfortunately that play didn't find a stage. However the National Theatre of Scotland was willing to work with me and help me develop my play Cider Maguire.

I am also currently working on my dystopian novel entitled The Food Federation. It features protagonist Bart Blister. Bart is a slave in all but name who works and lives entirely inside The Food Federation. Until he breaks out and sees for himself what The Food Federation has done to the world.
