Jennifer Adam

Jennifer is an award winning Scottish Playwright from Kinross and currently living in Edinburgh. Her play Walk a Mile was one of four plays that won the Scottish Short Play Award in 2017.

Jennifer was commissioned to write two plays for the Edinburgh Just Festival, one of which, Warrior, went on to tour in two separate school runs funded by Nil by Mouth and Sense over Sectarianism. Warrior also received a run at the Citizen's Theatre in Glasgow.

She was commissioned to write the play Balisong about knife crime and active citizenship with Strange Town Theatre in partnership with Fast Forward and No Knives Better lives. Balisong toured schools from 2017 - 2019 in every Scottish Local Authority and was seen by over 44,000 pupils. The play was also nominated for the Partnership Award at the Herald Society Awards 2018 and the Collaboration Award at the Creative Edinburgh Awards 2018.

She is a member of the Tron 100 Initiative and has written short plays for their programmes and for the Tron 100 Festival in June 2016 and 2017.

Jennifer has also written a short radio play, Looped, for BBC Radio Drama and she is one of the founding members of the Tandem Writing Collective.
