Kathleen is an all rounder which sometimes makes life hard and sometimes makes life easier. She self published Tumour Rumour and Words from the Heart: Charting a Journey Through Cancer when in the throes of treatment for breast cancer.
It is since allowing herself to write every day for the joy of it when undergoing treatment that Kathleen has taken to writing seriously. She has had prose and poetry published in The Eildon Tree and prose in Freak Circus. Freak Circus invited her to submit after seeing her perform her own work at an Open Mic night in Edinburgh.
She almost finished a novel on Janis Mackay's Write a Novel in A Year course. With Screen Education Edinburgh, she wrote the short film script, A Christmas Like No Other1.
She is now busy with Jules Horne embarking on a playwriting course where she hopes to finish a forty minute, one-act play.
Kathleen has worked as a Copywriter, Public Relations Specialist and an English and Drama Teacher. She is very active in community theatre and regularly acts and directs with Shakespeare at Traquair and her own theatre company, Odd Productions.
