Laila Noble

Laila is a Queer identifying Director and Playwright from Wales, now based in Scotland. She is the inaugural winner of the 2022 St Andrews Playwriting Award and her winning play will premier early the next year. 

Laila was the joint winner of the Scottish Arts' Club Bright Spark Award (Moonlight on Leith), runner up for Theatre Uncut's Political Playwriting Award, and is currently one of the L20 cohort of artists supported by the Lyceum Theatre in Edinburgh.

As a director Laila has been a recipient of the FST Directing bursary and directing work includes The Bush (Alice Mary Cooper) Waves (Alice Mary Cooper) and Moonlight on Leith. Laila is the Artistic Director for her company, ClartyBurd, who are a recipient of the Ayr Gaiety's New Scottish Companies Award.

Laila believes in good stories told well, representating her queer community on stage,  and her most valued audience feedback will always be "I hate theatre - but I loved that"
