New Playwrights Award Recipient 2019
Laurie is a recipient of a New Playwrights Award for
2019. He will be developing i was born to love you for the day
you love me too as part of the programme:
Jack was looking for love, and he has found it in Nam; a woman half his age from Thailand.
Until he can move there they keep their relationship alive online. Ruaridh dates his University professor, and Connor goes out with his first girlfriend in school. They both use their father's relationship as a barometer for their own - to disastrous consequences.
'i was born to love you for the day you love me too' explores why older men may turn to long distance international relationships instead of trying to find love at home. And asks how this might influence those who look up to them.
Laurie is receiving dramaturgical support on his play from playwright Linda McLean.
