Linda Duncan McLaughlin
Linda is a playwright, screenwriter and fiction writer, based in Glasgow. She is currently writing for River City, BBC Scotland's flagship drama.
She is a previous recipient of a New Playwright's Award from Playwrights' Studio Scotland and the play that resulted from that, Descent, was nominated for a CATS award for Best New Play in and won a Spirit of the Fringe award. Other plays include MacPherson's Rant for The Byre Theatre, St Andrews and Take Me If You Need Me for Oran Mor, Glasgow.
She has also written for BBC Alba's FUNC, for BBC Children's Digital Learning Time for a Story, and has story contributed on BBC's Waterloo Road.
Her novel-in-progress, Original Sins, was nominated for a CWA Debut Dagger Award in 2018, and she's currently working on a screenplay based on the novel. She was recently nominated for the inaugural Jenny Lecoat Screenwriting Prize.
Linda's also an actor and has worked in stage, TV and screen all over the UK and beyond.
