Mark Jeary

Mark has written several plays in the verbatim genre.

His first play, Blackout - an insight into alcoholism, chaos hope and recovery - debuted at the On The Verge festival at The Arches in 2013, and was long listed for the Verity Bargate award. Since then it has completed critically acclaimed sell-out runs in London and Edinburgh, as well as a Scotland-wide tour in 2016. In 2018, Mark refreshed the play, and is part of the Made In Scotland 2018 showcase at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, with the addition of a new character.

Mark has also wrote X and Y, which was performed during the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games and explored the lives of LGBT Commonwealth citizens. He has also written a short play, Wink, Block, Delete - which takes a look at gay 'hook-up' apps.

Mark is currently working on a more extensive verbatim piece on addiction, in which everyone involved has had lived experiences of it.
