Mark Russell

Mark Russell is a poet, drama teacher and playwright. His play Night Duty was first performed as part of the Glasgow West End Festival in 2006, directed by Janine Wunsche. In 2009, the Edinburgh-based theatre company Siege Perilous gave it a second run at the GRV off Chambers Street.

Entre-deux-Mers was presented as a rehearsed reading by the Playwrights' Studio, Scotland. It was first directed by Julie Ellen at the Citizens' Theatre in early 2006, and then Kate Nelson, Artistic Director of the Nutshell theatre collective, directed it at the Byre Theatre, St Andrews, for the WYSIWYG International Children's Theatre Festival later the same year.

Mark has published two pamphlets of poetry: Pursued by Well-being (tall-lighthouse, 2013), and  Saturday Morning Pictures (Red Ceilings Press, 2015). Other poems feature in a variety of magazines.
