Matthew Zajac has worked as an actor for many years, appearing in numerous plays, films, TV dramas and radio plays. He is artistic director of Dogstar Theatre Company, which produces and tours new plays from its base in the Highlands. He has also become a playwright in recent years. His play about his Polish father, The Tailor of Inverness (2008), has toured to festivals and theatres in 12 countries, winning several awards. He has also written The Sky Is Safe (2017) for Dogstar and an adaptation of James Robertson's novel The Testament of Gideon Mack. His best-selling book on The Tailor of Inverness is a historical memoir published by Sandstone Press.
