New Playwrights Award Recipient 2020

Michael will be developing his play ...In That Empire as part of his New Playwrights Award:

In a room by a motorway your knees had sat behind mine. I expect to have eaten with you. I am confused because I have not seen you. I have set sail from myself without a map or reason to return.   For a moment in a bar in South Belfast in May 1976 John loses sight of Oisín, and in that same moment fifty years pass. Now 78 and retired after a life in army intelligence, John is thrust into the role of carer to Louie, a teenage runaway with an agenda that will grind his world to dust.
