Croatian (Bosian, Serbian)
Selma is a director and playwright and Artistic Director of Newcastle based company Greyscale. She works in theatre, film and opera in a wide range of styles, traditions and forms. Her plays have been performed in the UK, Canada, Russia, Ukraine and Croatia. As a director she has worked with theatres such as Northern Stage, Theatre Royal Bath, Traverse, Tron, Stellar Quines, Hull Truck, Dundee Rep and Almeida.
She has translated over 15 novels by authors such as Susan Sontag, Salman Rushdie, Roddy Doyle, James Kelman, Dave Eggers, Zadie Smith, Monica Ali and Irvine Welsh and as a dramaturg she has worked with Exit Theatre Zagreb, NTS workshop and NT Studio.
