Partner Projects 2019

Jane Livingstone and Dunfermline Delivers

Jane Livingstone Jane Livingstone won a BAFTA Scotland New Talent Award for Best Writer in 1996 for her screenplay Roses of Picardy before embarking on a career in corporate communications. In 2014 she returned to creative writing with a musical comedy, Thieves of Dunfermline. This was followed by three commissions from A Play, A Pie and a Pint: Miss Veitch's RosesWitches of West Fife, and the award-winning Jocky Wilson Said which was performed in Glasgow, Aberdeen and at the Edinburgh Festival in 2017. In 2018 Jane is part of The BBC Writersroom Scottish Voices Programme and a director of Outwith Festival. She tends to view the world as a dependency of Dunfermline.
Dunfermline -delivers -logo Dunfermline Delivers is a Business Improvement District (BID) company run by, and for, local businesses and levy payers who are trading in the BID area and it is dedicated to improving and making Dunfermline a better place to conduct business, work and to live. The organisation believe in culture as a way of driving investment into the town and run a number of events and festivals throughout the year.

The project will produce a full-length, original play inspired by the heritage of Dunfermline. The intention is for this to be staged in an historic local site in late 2019. Playwright Jane Livingstone will develop the script with the financial and in-kind support of Chris Foote of BID company Dunfermline Delivers. While Jane and Chris have worked successfully together before on a range of civic projects, this will be a new departure for both: a first long-form commission for Jane and for Dunfermline Delivers, a first venture into commissioning creative work.
