Examples of previous projects we have supported
Jack was supported to undertake a week's writing residency in Stevenston, Ayrshire. Jack wanted to research the Ardeer Nobel Explosives' Plant - "The Dets" as it is known locally (after the detonators assembled there) and complete a first draft of the play.
Annie was supported for an initial stage of research and development of a new play - working title Tribe. This early R&D phase allowed Annie to bring together and synthesise a number of story ideas, which explore contemporary inter-generational relationships within, as well as between, communities and social groupings. Annie worked with director and dramaturg Niloo-Far Khan, performer Amber Allan and musician and composer Eve Allan.
Garry was supported to research and develop an on-screen cyber punk musical with a fully accessible animation of the words and music. He worked with collaborators including deaf actor and filmmaker Stephen Collins, deaf performer Sophie Stone, Novasound, designer Jamie Wardrop and director Jeni Draper.
Julia was supported to undertake an exploration into ways of communicating story, theme, and emotion in playwriting by drawing on techniques of traditional song. She began a period of research into various song traditions, followed by time working with collaborators exploring how a similar musicality and formal approach might be applied to the creation of a written play.
